The North Carolina Career Resource Network provides a variety of career management resources tailored to different audiences. Printed copies of publications are distributed to NC schools, institutions, and agencies. Some additional copies are available for distribution upon request.

Our resource materials incorporate elements recommended by National Career Development Guidelines. The NCDG Framework describes a continuum of personal, education, and career skills young people and adults should master to get the most from education, life, and work.

Our resources are designed for youth and adults — as well as for the adults who assist them in career planning and management. These resources have been made available free or at cost for 30 years. During this time, we have partnered with state agencies to create and disseminate information and to train state employees to use these resources. However, as we enter a transition period following the loss of part of our federal funding, the resources provided and the methods by which they are disseminated will change.

Resources include:

  • Labor market and occupational data, presented in lay terms

  • Publications for educators, career counselors, parents, job seekers, and career explorers

  • Videos

    • Occupational videos are incorporated into Career Briefs for hundreds of occupations; videos are available in English as well as Spanish

    • Skill and ability videos to help attain career success

  • Online services, including links to webinars and online training sources

  • The Real Game Series We are North Carolina's contact organization for The Real Game Series, a hands-on, practical, experiential learning program for youth and adults. Participants experience various aspects of the working world by "living" them within the safety of the classroom/ learning center or in other structured community settings.
